調査兵団が生け捕りにしていた2体の巨人が何者かによって殺されてしまう。第104期訓練兵にも疑いの目が向けられ、一人一人調査が行われた。結局、誰が殺したのかは分からなかったが、訓練兵たちにとっては重要なそれぞれの所属兵団を決める時期が迫っていた。彼らの前に立ったエルヴィンは本来であれば伏せておくべき情報まで明かすのだが……。
